Yair Dalal

Yair Dalal ( born 1955 ) is an Israeli composer and musician of Iraqi- Jewish descent.

His favorite instruments are oud and violin, sometimes he sings to his own accompaniment. He composes music on the basis of both Jewish and Arab traditions, as well as classical and Indian music. Known to a European audience he XXI was his collaboration with Zubin Mehta or Jordi Savall and the ensemble Hesperion, with whom he has recorded two recordings of an old Andalusian music.

He is a peace activist and tries to mediate and understanding between Arabs and Jews.
