Yair Golan

Yair Golan (Hebrew יאיר גולן; * 1962) is an Israeli officer.

He is Major General ( Aluf ) of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF ) and since 2011 Commander of the Northern Command.

In 1980 Golan to his military service in the Israeli Paratrooper Brigade, in which he later served as a commander. Golan earned a bachelor's degree in political science at Tel Aviv University and later a master's degree at Harvard University.

Golan is married and has five children.
