Yamaha XT 350

The Yamaha XT 350 is an Enduro (motorcycle) from the XT- series of the Japanese motorcycle manufacturer Yamaha.

History

It was built from 1985 virtually unchanged until 2000, only the power was reduced in 1991 because of new noise and emission regulations by throttle plates in the intake to 13 kW. The XT 350 is lighter than the XT 600, but as regards their type similar ( Monocross suspension, seat position ). Due to the weight it is well suited for off-road use, but also has to travel far no problems. By lighter modifications can be an XT 350 for enduro races (GCC, 3h enduro etc ) use. By other spring elements excursions on motocross tracks are feasible, only long and hard jumps due to its design for the chassis (and therefore the driver) unhealthy. The strength is clearly in the Enduro range because the engine is very good-natured and has a wide torque band.

In Germany it was sold until 1996, in the U.S. and Australia to 2000. Due to their reliability, the XT 350 is still used, for example, in Finland the military. As a 250 cc version is the 350 XT been available due to other motorcycle classes in Greece (not to be confused with the " real" XT 250, which can be seen as a small offshoot of the XT 500).

The engine was fitted with slight modifications ( carburetor and valves) in the Yamaha TT 350, which is used with better suspension, minimal equipment and one-man - approval as a sports Enduro.

Due to its robustness, the XT 350 is still popular with beginners because of manageable sums an entry in the enduro world is possible. The supply of spare parts is currently ensured even on Yamaha and the second hand market.
