Yamakasi - The Samurai of modernity is a feature film directed by Ariel Zeitoun, shot in 2001 in France. From the perspective of a group of extreme athletes he criticizes the French social system, in ghetto -like housing conditions and to a restrictive immigration policy.
Action
The film revolves around seven " Yamakasi " who pursue a new street sport (see Parkour ). Light-footed, smooth and lightning fast they jump from one building to another, gliding along the walls and fear no danger. The young people from around the Yamakasi admire and try to imitate them. One day, this results in an accident when the little Djamel falls from the tree. Due to a heart problem is urgent. But with the slump things are going wrong, and only a fellow police officer can help them.
