Yamdrok Lake

The Yamzhog Yumcog ( Yardrog Yutsho ) is a lake in county government Nagarze in Shannan Prefecture of Tibet Autonomous Region of the People's Republic of China.

He is 4441 meters above sea level, has an area of ​​638 square kilometers and is 30 to 40 feet deep; its extent is from east to west about 130 kilometers from north to south about 70 kilometers. The shore of the lake is heavily dissected and in the lake, there are about a dozen islands; the largest has an area of ​​about 3000 square meters. The Yamzhog Yumcog freezes over in winter. The name of the lake means " green Jade Sea the upper pasture ."
