Yan'an
Yan'an (Chinese延安 市, pinyin Yan'an Shì, W.-G. Yen -an) is in the north of Shaanxi Province on the border with Inner Mongolia and the Yellow River.
History
Yan'an in 1935 the goal of the Long March and from then until 1948, the political and military base of the Communist Party of China. In addition, Yan'an was until 1945 also an important base of Korean exile Communists from here went to the end of the Second World War to North Korea, where a communist regime was installed by the Soviets.
On April 11, 1946 by Pope Pius XII. the Roman Catholic Apostolic Vicariate of Yan'an, which had been erected on October 15, 1696 as the Apostolic Vicariate of Shaanxi Yan'an elevated to the bishopric. The bishop's seat remains vacant since 1972.
Economy
It is mainly grown wheat on loess soil.

- Ansai county (安塞 县), 2984 km ², 160,000 inhabitants, capital: greater community Zhenwudong (真 武 洞 镇);
- Circle Zhidan (志丹 县), 3781 km ², 130,000 inhabitants, capital: greater community Bao'an (保安 镇);
- Circle Wuqi (吴起 县), 3776 km ², 130,000 inhabitants, capital: greater community Wuqi (吴旗 镇);
- Circle Ganquan (甘泉 县), 2288 km ², 80,000 inhabitants, capital: greater community Chengguan (城关 镇);
- Circle Fu (富县), 4185 km ², 150,000 inhabitants, capital: greater community Fucheng (富 城镇);
- Circle Luochuan (洛川 县), 1886 km ², 200,000 inhabitants, capital: greater community Fengqi (凤栖 镇);
