Yang di-Pertuan Negara
Yang di - Pertuan Negara or mostly even Yang di Pertuan (Chinese - Malaysian, on German Head of State or Supreme Leader ) is a title for Heads of State and Government in Singapore, Brunei and Malaysia.
Singapore
In Singapore Yusof bin Ishak was, among other Yang di - Pertuan Negara of Singapore until independence in 1965. Thereafter, the Office Presiden (President) has been renamed.
Malaysia
In Malaysia, there was the title from 1963 to 1976 in the state of Sabah, and described the governor (English State Governor ), today used to Yang di - Pertua Negeri ( also " national leader ") for all provinces.
Brunei
The title Yang di - Pertuan is still used for the Sultan of Brunei as an additive.
