Yangguan

Yangguan (Chinese阳 关/阳 关, Pinyin Yangguan, South Pass / Southern Pass' ) is the name of an originally in the time of the Western Han Dynasty attached to the Chinese western border of Emperor Wu Pass about 70 km south-west of Dunhuang in today's Gansu province of the people's Republic of China. As the Jade Gate Pass ( Yumenguan ) he joined China with Central Asia.

The Yangguan Street ( Yangguan (da) dao ) - an important link in the so-called Western Regions ( Xiyu ) - led about him. Its name comes from the fact because he was in the south of the Jade Gate Pass. Since the Song Dynasty he lost importance and lapsed.
