Yangtze Plain

The level on the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River (Chang Jiang Zhong - Xiayou Pingyuan长江 中下游 平原) consists of several larger and smaller planes that are located along the Yangtze River Three Gorges of its downriver to the east.

The northern part of the plain situated south of Huaiyang hill country and the Huanghuai level, the southern part of the north of Jiangnan hill country and the Zhejiang - Fujian - hill country. It consists of alluvial deposits of the Yangtze River and its tributaries. It has an area of ​​approximately 200,000 square kilometers.

The plane extends over several provinces: the eastern part of Hubei province, north Hunan, southern Anhui, North Jiangxi, North Zhejiang, a large part of Jiangsu and the city of Shanghai. It is the largest of the three major Chinese levels.

The level on the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River is composed of four parts: lying on the middle reaches of the Yangtze River ( 1 ) the Lianghu level (in the south of Hubei Province and northern Hunan Province) and ( 2 ) the Poyang plane around the Poyang Lake in Jiangxi Province; located on the lower reaches of the Yangtze River ( 3 ) the Central Anhui - level in the middle of Anhui Province and ( 4 ) the Yangtze River Delta between the provinces of Jiangsu and Zhejiang.
