Yap

Yap (also Japanese) is the main island of Yap Islands, a small archipelago in the western Pacific. This is located approximately 1300 km from New Guinea and 870 km from Guam.

The 18 km long and up to 3 km wide island is home to its south-east coast of the town of Colonia, the capital of the Micronesian state of Yap. The part of Yap State together with three other island regions, the independent island nation of the Federated States of Micronesia.

On the island of Yap is also the Yap International Airport ( IATA: YAP, ICAO: PTYA 1829 meters).
