Yaqub-Har
Jaqobher (also Jaqabhaddu ) was an ancient Egyptian petty king of the Hyksos Period ( Second Intermediate Period ) in the 15th or 16th Dynasty.
Evidence and classification
He has so far proved only by scarabs that have been found in Canaan and in the Nubian Kerma, indicating extensive trade relations. His chronology is disputed. Some researchers identify him with one of the "big Hyksos " is the 15th Dynasty. Wolfgang Helck contradicts and Jürgen von Beckerath sets Jaqobher with Apachnas from the King List of Manetho equal, whereas William A. Ward identified him because of the typological ranking of scarabs with Beon. The latter is considered by Thomas Schneider unlikely. Other researchers, however, arrange Jaqobher in the 16th Dynasty.
Name
Its proper name Jaqabhaddu ( "protecting [ the god ] Haddu " ) is Northwest Semitic origin. Name variations besides Jaqobher are Jaqobjer, Yakub - forth and Yaqeb -Hor.
