Yaropolk II of Kiev

Jaropolk II Vladimirovich (Russian Ярополк II Владимирович; * 1082, † 1139 ) was from 1132 to 1139 Grand Prince of Kievan Rus, son of Vladimir Monomakh and successor of his brother Mstislaws I as Grand Duke.

Under Jaropolks rule, the fighting reached under the Rurik new heights. The Kievan Rus, which was still under Vladimir Monomakh on a peak of their power, increasingly disintegrated. From Suzdal off Prince Yuri Dolgoruky began increasingly interfering in Kiev. First, however, succeeded Vsevolod Olgowitsch, establishing herself as a Grand Duke and successor Jaropolks II.
