Yasuaki Aida

Aida Yasuaki (Japanese会 田 安明; born February 10, 1747 in Yamagata, † October 26, 1817 in Edo, now Tokyo), or Aida Ammi ( the Sino- Japanese reading of his name ), was a Japanese mathematician.

Aida grew up in Yamagata on the north of Honshu and went in 1769 to Edo, now Tokyo, to work for the shogun. In 1788 published Aida Yasuaki Sampo Tenshi Shinan, a book on geometric problems. He also worked in the field of number theory and improved to Seki Takakazu declining methods for treatment of continued fractions.
