Yasukazu Hamada

Yasukazu Hamada (Japanese浜 田 靖 一, Hamada Yasukazu; born October 21, 1955 in Futtsu, Chiba Prefecture) is a Japanese politician of the Liberal Democratic Party ( LDP), a member of the Shūgiin, the Lower House, and former defense minister of his country. Within the LDP, he belongs to no faction.

Life

Hamada is the son of Shūgiin deputies Koichi Hamada. After studying at Hillsdale College in Hillsdale, Michigan, and Senshu University, Chiyoda, Tokyo Hamada worked since 1980, first in the Chamber office by Finance Minister Michio Watanabe, then from 1982 as Secretary of Finance Minister Noboru Takeshita. Two years later he was finally first secretary of his father.

In the 1993 election Shūgiin Yasukazu Hamada himself was first elected to the Shūgiin. In 1998 he was Parliamentary Secretary ( seimujikan ) in the Defence Office, the predecessor of the Ministry of Defence, 2003 Shigeru Ishiba Secretary of State ( fuku - Chokan ). In the LDP Hamada 2001 was vice chairman of the policy research committee ( PARC ), 2004 Vice-Chairman of the Committee for Parliamentary Affairs.

In September 2008, Prime Minister Taro Aso, appointed him as defense minister in his cabinet.
