Yátova

Yátova (Catalan Iàtova ) is a municipality in the Valencian Community in Spain. The municipality belongs to the province of Valencia and is part of the county of Hoya de Buñol.

Geography

The community Yátova is accessible via the A-3 from Valencia and is about 40 kilometers from the city.

The community is characterized by its mountainous surroundings, it lies 420 meters above sea level.

History

It was noted that as early as the Bronze Age, the area was inhabited by Yátova.

Management

From 1995 to Pablo Guerrero had for a term of office, four years, held the office of mayor. He belongs to the party PSOE. From 1999 to 2003 there was a dual national championship until Raphael Lisarde Cifre was the election of the mayor to decide for themselves. He wears his office since the second term in a row since 2007. Cifre belongs to the PP.

Economy

The community has long been living from agriculture. Above all, the carob, almond and olive tree will be planted in Yátova.

Local celebrations

  • San Antonio Abad: The celebration in his honor is held each year on 17 January.
  • Fallas: This festival is celebrated in following week St. Joseph, so on March 19.
  • Fiestas Patronales: The festival is aimed that in honor of the patron saint, it is in Yátova the Holy Isidro Labrador, is celebrated on May 15.
