Yaya Touré ( 2012)

Yaya Touré Gnégnéri ( born May 13, 1983 in Bouaké ) is an Ivorian football player who has a contract with Manchester City Premier League club since 2010. After 2011 and 2012, he was elected in 2013 for the third year in a row African Footballer of the year.

Association

Yaya Touré began his career in 1996 in the youth football school Academy Mimosifcom. About the ASEC Abidjan in 2001, he moved to KSK Beveren in Belgium, from where he went to Metalurh Donetsk 2003. Finally, in 2005 signed him to the Greek giants Olympiakos Piraeus. In 2006, a number of offers from other clubs went in with him; ultimately he opted for that of AS Monaco.

Due to its very good performance at AS Monaco FC Barcelona became aware of him. On 26th June 2007 finally Touré's move to Barcelona, it was announced. He signed for four years and cost tens of millions of euro transfer fee. In June 2009, Touré extended his contract with Barça ahead to 2012. In the new contract, the period specified transfer fee of 60 was increased to 100 million euros.

After he won all six possible trophies with FC Barcelona in 2009, he was named Footballer of the Year of the Ivory Coast in 2009.

On 2 July 2010, he signed a fixed-term five-year contract with Manchester City. Although he played mainly for FC Barcelona defensive midfielder, he plays for Manchester City as a rule a more offensive position, whereby it is also prolific. It can therefore be used in defensive, central and attacking midfield and in central defense.

In his first season at City in the semi-finals of the FA Cup against Manchester United, he scored the only goal of the game and thus had a large part in his team moved into the finals. There, Manchester City met Stoke City 1-0 was defeated. Goal scorer was again Touré, who thus first title after 35 years gave the fans at Citizens.

In April 2013 Touré extended his contract with the Citizens for a further four years until the end of the season 2016/17.

On March 22, 2014 Yaya Toure scored his first hat-trick in his career. 5-0 victory over Fulham Ivorian scored the first three goals.

National

In 2006, he was with Ivory Coast in the finals of the Africa Cup. 2006 national coach Henri Michel also appointed him to the Ivory Coast squad for the World Cup in Germany. In 2010, he was also in the squad of the Ivory Coast at the World Cup in South Africa.

Family

Yaya Touré has two brothers who are also active in professional football: His older brother Kolo Touré was active as a central defender also at Manchester City, now occupied selbige position at Liverpool. Ibrahim Touré, the youngest of the three, is in Lebanon at Safa Beirut SC under contract.
