Yayladere (Kurdish: Xolxol spoken Holhol ) is a district of the Turkish province of Bingol. The county town is also called Yayladere.

The county has an area of 430 km ² and is bordered on the west by Tunceli and Elazığ to the south. The river Peri forms the natural border to Elazig. The area is about 1,600 m above sea level. The mountains up to 2,800 m high. The two largest are the Sülbüs / Selbuz ( 2,884 m) and Sultan Mehmet / Taru.

The county has a population of 1,853 people (2008). Almost 90% of residents live in the county seat Yayladere. In the county, many Alevis live. Many of the 100 villages are empty, because the population has been displaced during the conflict with the PKK to the State. Most live in the big cities like Istanbul.

In addition to the Yayladere Hurrians settled the Urartian, the Medes, the Persians and the Romans. After infiltration of the Turkic peoples in the 11th century, Yayladere fell in 1071 with the defeat of the Byzantines against the Seljuks to the Turkmen. 1080-1201 there was here the local dynasty of Saltukiden. The Turkmen Uzun Hasan ruled here until 1473. 1514 Yayladere fell to the Ottomans. Since 1923 Yayladere part of the Turkish Republic. The old name Xolxol 1959, all old Kurdish and Armenian village and field names replaced by Turkish names. 1987 Yayladere was elevated to the rank of the district.
