Ydnekatchew Tessema

Ydnekachew Tessema, also Yidnekachew Tessema ( born September 11, 1921 in Jimma, † August 19, 1987 in Addis Ababa ) including President Confederation of African Football CAF from 1972 to 1987, Ethiopia's national football team, and co-founder of the Ethiopian Football Federation.

He played 1948-1954 15 times for the Ethiopian national football team and scored a goal. At 14, he joined the football club Saint- George SA and played for him 23 years old. He is said to have been the first footballer of Ethiopia, which has played with football shoes.

After his active footballer time he was coach of his club St. George and coach of his country. Under his direction, the national team won their greatest success, the African champions title in 1962. His first live radio commentary of a football match in 1963 was the World Cup qualifier against Israel in Tel Aviv.
