Ye Jiangchuan

Ye Jiangchuan (Chinese叶江川/叶江川, Pinyin Ye Jiangchuan; born November 20, 1960 in Wuxi) is a leading Chinese chess master.

Ye, a grandmaster in chess and multiple national champion of China ( 1981, 1984, 1986, 1987, 1989, 1994, 1996), is in China for years leading players. He represented his country at numerous Chess Olympiads and Team Championships Asia. He played at the 1998 Chess Olympiad in Elista on first board for China when his team ended up in fifth place. 2001 Ye came in the KO World Cup FIDE to the 4th round before, where he lost to the eventual runners- champion Vasyl Ivanchuk with 0.5-1.5.

His current Elo rating is 2612 (as of January 2008). Last among the best 20 in the world he was in April 2003, the month in which he had his highest ever Elo rating of 2684.
