Yelena Belevskaya

Jelena Wassiljewna Belewskaja (Russian: Елена Васильевна Белевская, English transcription Yelena Vasilyevna Belevskaya, . Born October 11, 1963 in Evpatoria ) is a former Belarusian athlete, who specialized in the long jump. Up to and including 1991, she appeared internationally for the Soviet Union.

In February 1987, Belewskaja won at the European Indoor Championships in Liévin with a width of 6.76 m bronze medal in the long jump. Two weeks later she was at the World Indoor Championships in Indianapolis with exactly the same width also third parties. She celebrated her greatest sporting success in the same year at the World Championships in Rome. With a length of 7.14 m, she won the silver medal behind the US-American Jackie Joyner - Kersee (7.36 m ) and before the defending champion Heike Drechsler of East Germany, which jumped an inch shorter.

At the 1988 Olympic Games in Seoul Belewskaja missed a medal just as she finished fourth with 7.04 meters. At the World Athletics Championships 1991 in Tokyo, she was eighth.
