Yelena Prokhorova

Yelena Vladimirovna Prokhorova (Russian: Елена Владимировна Прохорова; . Engl transcription Yelena Prokhorova; born April 16, 1978 in Kemerovo ) is a Russian heptathlete.

Your personal best of 6765 points dates back to July 2000. In September at the Olympic Summer Games 2000 in Sydney she won with 6531 points behind silver Denise Lewis ( GBR ) and before Natallja Sasanowitsch ( BLR).

In 2001 she won at the World Indoor Championships in Lisbon in the pentathlon silver with 4711 points behind Natallja Sasanowitsch. In the summer at the World Championships in Edmonton, she won the gold medal with 6694 points, ahead of Sasanowitsch who won with 6539 points Silver.

In the European Indoor Championships in 2002, she won the pentathlon with 4622 points. At the World Championships 2003, she was with 6452 points Fourth.

In her second Olympic Games 2004 in Athens, she finished fifth ( 6289 points).

From 4 October 2005 to 3 October 2006, it has been banned by the World Association of Athletics Federations IAAF for a doping - offense for competitions.
