Yellow-naped Amazon (Amazona auropallaita )

The Yellow-naped Amazon (Amazona auropalliata ), is a species of bird in the family of parrots authentics. Their natural habitat is Central America.

Yellow-naped Amazons reach a body length of 35-38 centimeters. Your body plumage is green. The name derives from the yellow neck. The species was formerly classified as a subspecies of the Yellow -crowned Amazon. Today it is regarded as a separate species. There are two subspecies:

  • Rotbug - Yellow-naped Amazon ( A. auropalliata parvipes )
  • Roatan Yellow-naped Amazon ( A. auropalliata caribae )

Yellow-naped Amazons have a loud voice and are able to imitate sounds good from their environment. They are cavity nesters. The female lays two to four eggs. Incubation period is approximately 26 days.
