Position of Jemza in the catchment area of the Northern Dvina
The Jemza (Russian Ёмца ) is a left tributary of the Northern Dvina River in Arkhangelsk Oblast in northwestern Russia.
The Jemza has its origins in Rajon Plesetsk, north west of the urban-type settlement Plesetsk. It flows in an easterly direction. They passed the small town Sawinski and the Plesetsk launch site. Then it sets its course continued in a northeasterly direction and reached shortly after the village of the Northern Dvina Jemezk.
The Jemza has a length of 188 km and drains an area of 14,100 km ². Its main tributaries are Tegra and Waimuga from left, as well as Mechrenga and Bolschaja Tschatscha from the right. The average discharge is 70 m³ / s
