Yên Bái Province

Yen Bai is a province of Vietnam. It is located in the North East Region.

Districts

Yen Bai is divided into seven districts:

  • Luc Yên
  • Mù Cang TRAI
  • Tram Tau
  • Tran Yên
  • Văn Chan
  • Văn Yên
  • Yên Bình

Yen Bai ( provincial capital ) and Nghia Lo are own communities.

Nature

The province is crossed by the southern foothills of the Lao Cai mountain range. In the district Mù Cang Chai in an area of 20,000 hectares on the border with the province of Lào Cai the Species Management Area Mu Cang Chai Species / Habitat Conservation Area (MCC SHCA ) was established in 2004 to protect the endangered mountain wildlife.

Tourism

The province is still relatively undeveloped, especially in the higher western part. There is an attempt to establish a small festival for the rice harvest season ( late September) in Mù Cang TRAI. Here and around the market town Tú Lê are remarkable rice terraces settlements, some applied in narrow side valleys, which are accessible from the main road only via narrow, very steep streets.
