Yenişehir ( Turkish for Neustadt ) is one of four districts of the city of Mersin and the same time a district of Mersin Province in southern Turkey. The district lies to the east of the province on the Mediterranean. Yenişehir has 191 189 and County 196 206 inhabitants ( 2010). Besides Yenişehir it is yet another municipality and seven villages in the district.
