Yerahmiel Assa

Jerachmi'el Assa (Hebrew יְרַחְמִיאֵל אסא; born March 7, 1919 at the Caucasus; † 11 October 2011) was an Israeli politician.

Life

In the Jewish Agency for Israel, he was a board member of the department, which was responsible for Jews from the Middle East. He worked for the Mossad le Aliyah Bet First in Iraq. Among other things, he was "Operation Michael Berg " involved in the implementation of, were flown to the Jews from Iraq by plane to Palestine illegally. Among the emigrants was the Zionist activist and, therefore, pursued by the Iraqi police Shoshana Arbeli - Almoslino. In the years 1953 and 1954 he worked for the illegal aliyah of Jews in Iran and Turkey. Since 15 August 1955, he was on the electoral list Ahdut Haavoda. Of 19 September 1958 to 30 November 1959 he was a member of the Knesset, in which he nachrückte for the late Avraham Abaas.
