Yerakini

The northern district is composed of an old mining town and the Magnesitwerken ( Metalliο Gerakinis Μεταλλείο Γερακινής ). South of the coast road is the new settlement ( Paralia Gerakinis Παραλία Γερκινής ) with hotels, shops and tavernas. There is a magnesite - shipment facility, which was, however, closed down several years ago and began the dismantling in May 2013 on the coast. Special tourist attractions are not present in Gerakini, the beach and the tourist infrastructure is standard comparable to large places in the area. The central location makes Gerakini as a starting point for both day trips to the peninsula of Kassandra and Sithonia as well as on the central part of Halkidiki to Thessaloniki or possible.
