Yerik Utembayev

Jerik Myltykbajewitsch Utembajew (Russian Ерик Мылтыкбаевич Утембаев; born February 24, 1966) is a Kazakh diplomat and since June 2012 Kazakh Ambassador to Poland. He is married and has three children.

Biography

He studied at the National Al -Farabi University in Almaty, where he graduated with a doctorate in mathematics. From December 2001 to September 2002 he was Deputy Chairman of the Agency for Strategic Planning of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Subsequently, he served as Vice Chairman of the Security Council of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

April 13, 2006 Utembajew became the Kazakh Ambassador to the Islamic Republic of Iran. After about three years as ambassador in Tehran, he was appointed by President Nursultan Nazarbayev as Kazakh ambassador to the Kingdom of Belgium on March 18, 2009. Two months later, Jerik Utembajew addition ambassador to the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg as well as representatives of Kazakhstan to the European Union and NATO.

On June 8, 2012, he was appointed Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Poland by the Kazakh president.
