Yevgeny Nikitin

Is a Russian opera singer ( bass-baritone ), Yevgeny Nikitin Igorewitsch (* 1973 in Murmansk Russian Евгений Игоревич Никитин, first and patronymic are written in English transcription Evgeny Igorevich ).

Life and work

The parents were both musicians Nikitin. In his youth and later until at least 2008 Nikitin played as a drummer in a black metal band. From this time different tattoos come on his body.

In 1992, Nikitin took his studies at Santa on Petersburg Conservatory. During his studies he worked as a soloist at the Mariinsky Theatre. It was soon followed by invitations to major opera houses in Europe, North America and Asia.

In 2002, Nikitin debuted at New York's Metropolitan Opera as Dolokhov in war and peace, since he was there to see in many other roles. His debut at the Théâtre du Châtelet he was in the title role of Rubinstein's Demon, in the French capital, he also appeared in the National Opera. Cancellation of the Bayreuth Festival 2012

2012 Nikitin should take over the role of the Dutchman at the Bayreuth Festival as the first Russian singer. This had jointly determined the artistic director of the festival, Katharina Wagner and the conductor Christian Thielemann.
