Yevlakh District

Yevlax is a rayon in the north of Azerbaijan. The district encircles the city Yevlax.

Geography

The district has an area of 1537 km ². The landscape is a plane that is crossed by Kura. At this lie the forests of Tugai, through the district also run the Upper Shirvan Canal and the Upper Karabakh Canal.

Population

In Rayon lived 2009 117.400 people. These are spread over 50 settlements.

Economy

In the region of cotton and corn is grown and operated poultry and sericulture. The industry mainly produces tobacco products and gin.
