Yili Group

Inner Mongolia Yili Industrial Group (abbreviated Yili Group) is a Chinese company with headquarters in Hohhot. It's 50 listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange share index SSE.

Yili Group produces and sells milk and milk- based products such as milk powder, yogurt, cold drinks, ice creams, baby food, diet drinks and cheese products.

In September 2008 it was announced that the Yili Group for their products related raw milk that was contaminated with the chemical melamine. The melamine milk was added to simulate a higher protein content. As a result, kidney disease were at least 53,000 children found and it is assumed that at least four infants died from renal dysfunction.
