York Guildhall

The Guild Hall ( guild hall ) of the city of York is derived from the 15th century Assembly building of the guilds. Due to the severe damage caused by a German air raid during the so-called Baedeker Blitz the current building for the most part is a reconstruction opened in 1960. The so-called interior space has, however, the attack survived intact, with paneled walls and a history of the city of York on a glass window. The Guildhall was the scene of many events in British history.
