Yosef Hamadani Cohen

Yousef Hamadani Cohen (Persian یوسف همدانی کهن; * 1916, † March 29, 2014 in Tehran ) was the Chief Rabbi of the Jewish community in Iran. He held from January 1994 until his death in this position.

In August 2000, he first met the Iranian president Mohammad Khatami. In February 2003 there was a further meeting between Cohen and Khatami. This took place in the Yusef Abad held in Teheran synagogue and marked the first visit of a Jewish device by an Iranian head of state.
