You Took the Words Right Out of My Mouth

You Took the Words Right Out of My Mouth ( Hot Summer Night ) (English for: "You have straight taken the words out of his mouth ( Hot Summer Night ) ") is the first single from the American rock musician Meat Loaf in his solo career. The song was written by Jim Steinman and comes from his album Bat Out of Hell, which was released in 1977. The album version includes a spoken intro. This was removed at the single and is usually not played on the radio.

Background

It is reported that the intro was a key factor that Steve Popovich has accepted the album Bat Out of Hell in Cleveland International Records. The irony of it all is that Steinmann, Loaf and the band's tried for a year and finally succeeded with a 45 -second intro in which it was not even sung. According to Meat Loaf 's autobiography he asked Jim Steinman, if he could write a song that " is not 15-20 minutes long, and also was a pop song ." In the autobiography, the song is dated to 1975 and identified as a key factor that Loaf and Steinman decided to make an album together.

When the song came out, he was not very successful, he was described in reviews as too theatrical. You Took the Words Right Out of My Mouth was perceived correctly only when it was the B-side to Paradise by the Dashboard Light.

The music video for the song was recorded on a stage and gives the impression of a live performance.
