Yukihiro Matsumoto

Yukihiro Matsumoto (Japanese松本 行 弘Yukihiro Matsumoto; born April 14, 1965 in Tottori Prefecture ) has developed the Ruby programming language and is still responsible for them. He was also in Japan for the open source company netlab.jp worked as a programmer.

Matsumoto studied at the University of Tsukuba computer science, where he was part of research groups for programming languages ​​and compilers.

He is head of the Network Applied Communications Laboratory ( NaCl), a fellow at Rakuten Institute of Technology and since 2011 Chief Architect of Ruby at the PaaS provider Heroku.

Matsumoto was awarded for the development of Ruby and years of collaboration on GNU and other free software projects with the FSF Award 2011.
