Yukmouth

Yukmouth ( born October 18, 1974 in Oakland, California; actually Jerold Dwight Ellis, II) is an American rapper.

Biography

Yukmouth, rapper and owner of Smoke -A-Lot Records, was the mid-1990s, especially on the side of his partner Numskull known alias Sir Drank -A-Lot as one half of the duo The Luniz by the smash hit I Got 5 On It.

With increasing popularity and occurring serious differences between both label and band, as well as between the two band members Yukmouth and Numskull, the roads and common Yuk parted began at the Houston, Texas -based label Rap -A-Lot Records as a solo artist. He published there three solo albums, all of which went into the Billboard charts, albeit with less success before his own record label with distribution through Rap -A-Lot was granted. He named his label in the name Smoke -A-Lot Records, which he had derived from his alias name Smoke -A- Lot. So he called himself since his time at The Luniz, which can be found primarily on The Luniz album Lunitik Muzik and in the accompanying inlays.

Furthermore, Yukmouth is also co-founder and member of the hip hop collective The regime, a Gangsta Rap Group, which is also known as The Smoke -A-Lot regime.

Since the end of last year Yuk is back in contact with Numskull to bring a new official studio album by The Luniz on the way.
