Yun Hyu

Yun Hyu ( born October 14, 1617 in Seoul, † May 20, 1680 ) was a Korean philosopher, poet, politician and artist. He was leader of the political group Namin ( 남인 ). Pseudonyms were Baikho ( 백호 ) and Haheon ( 하헌 ).

1660, he was the main figure in a controversy over the mourning rituals of King Hyojong. In 1674 he was again involved in a controversy, this time over the death of Queen Inseon. In 1680 he was ordered after a long public debate with song Siyeol of King Sukjong to commit suicide.
