Yuri Kovtun

Yuri Kovtun Michalowitsch (Russian Юрий Михайлович Ковтун; born January 5, 1970 in Azov, USSR ) is a Russian football player. He played most of his career with Dynamo Moscow and Spartak Moscow. He was also a 1994-2003 member of the Russian national football team.

Career

Football games he learned in sports boarding school in Rostov-on- Don. His career began in 1988, he in his native city at sucking Azov. A year later he moved to FK SKA Rostov, the first professional club. Again, after a year he moved to Rostelmasch. Played there for three years and made the two Moscow clubs Dynamo and Spartak attention. Beginning of the 1993 season, he moved then to Dynamo Moscow. Five years later he went to Spartak Moscow. At the beginning of the season of 2006 he moved to Vladikavkaz to Alanija. This should be his last stop as a professional footballer. Just over a year after he left Moscow, he returned in 2007 and played a few games at amateur club MVD Rossii Moscow. He was even nominated in the same year coach. Under his leadership, the club was very successful, and get two climbs in a row. In addition, in August 2007, the fourth place achieved for the police Soccer World Championships in Prague. Halfway through the 2009 season had to stop participating in the 1st Division, the club for financial reasons. From 2010 Kovtun is hired as coach at Salyut - Energia Belgorod.

From 1994 to 2003 he was part of the Russian national football team and graduated as a left defender 50 games for them in which he scored two goals. He participated in the 1996 European Championships and the 2002 World Cup.
