Yuri Skorzov

Yuri Alexandrovich Skvortsov (Russian Юрий Александрович Скворцов; * 1929, † 1998) was a Soviet ski jumper.

Career

Skvortsov made ​​his international debut with its launch at the 1954 Nordic World Ski Championships in Falun. He jumped from the normal hill twice to 72 meters, reaching 31 place.

In the Four Hills Tournament 1955/56, he started late only to New Year's event in Garmisch -Partenkirchen. However, he did not come here on the 41st square. In Innsbruck he surprised the competition with the 11th place on the Bergiselschanze. After the final competition of weather conditions from Bischofshofen was moved to Hallein on the zinc jump, he could win this jumping even more surprising. In the overall standings, he thus reached the 19th place.

In the following Four Hills Tournament 1956/57, he was unable to repeat that success. So he reached after completion of the tour with 400 points, only 45th overall.
