Yusuke Kaneko

Yusuke Kaneko (Japanese金子 佑 介, Yusuke Kaneko, born April 18, 1976 in Sapporo ) is a former Japanese ski jumper.

Career

Kaneko came late to the professional ski jumping. He played his first international jumping, which also was his World Cup debut, only on 18 January 1997 Sapporo at the age of 20 years. Already in this first competition, he reached number 22 on the normal hill his first World Cup points. Then he won at the Winter Universiade in South Korea Muju the bronze medal on the large hill. Two years later, he repeated the result at the Winter Universiade in Poprad, Slovakia and won with the Japanese team the team competition. Only on 5 September 2001, he jumped again an international jumping. When jumping as part of the Summer Grand Prix 2001, he reached on his home hill, the Okurayama hill, the 45th place. From January 2002, Kaneko jumped in the Continental Cup. On 13 March 2003 he won his only Continental Cup competitions in Yamagata on the Zaō hill.

In World Cup competitions in his native country he was used regularly in the National group could also qualify most, but did not reach the front ranks. Only on 6 February 2005 could jump in Sapporo 17th place again in the World Cup points ranking.

On 12 March 2005, he completed his date last Continental Cup competitions. He jumped while in Zakopane on the 3rd place. On 10 September 2005, he jumped in the context of the Summer Grand Prix in Hakuba. He then put a break from competition until 2008. On 22 March 2008, he moved together with Kazuki Nishishita and Sota Okamura after participating in the 9th Itō -hai Season Final Okurayama Nighter Jump Taikai from active competition.
