Zăbrani

Zábraní ( Guttenbrunn German, Hungarian Temeshidegkút ) is a town in Arad County, Banat, Romania. To the municipality includes the villages Zábraní Chesinţ and Neudorf.

Location

Zábraní is located on the northern edge of the Banat, about 5 km south of the Maros. The town is crossed by the highway Arad - Lipova, and has over railroad tracks, Timişoara - wheel hub ( Lipova ) connection to the railway network.

History

The first German families in 1724 were settled on a hill. The place was named Guttenbrunn. The first church was built in 1730. More German families in the village Guttwill 1736 were settled. 1764, the area was ceded to Guttwill Guttenberg. 1753 were 17 new families from Lorraine and from the Black Forest and settled in Sabran (Romanian Zábraní ). 1930 were merged Guttenbrunn and Zábraní.

In the high Teresian settlement period, the town was again extended by Zusiedlungen until 1771 148 houses were built by the Impopulationsdirektor Carl Samuel Neumann Edler von Buchholt here. On 9 April 1995, the museum memorial in honor of banatschwäbischen writer Adam Müller- Guttenbrunn ( 1852-1923 ) was re-opened in a ceremony. The extensive renovations and refurbishment was funded by the former ambassador to Romania, Klaus Terfloth, launched Stiftung Deutsches Heritage Sites in Romania, the country team in the Banat Swabians and by the Bavarian state government. Among the guests of honor at the event included representatives of the homeland of the Banat Swabians and the Democratic Forum of Germans from the Banat and the Ministerial of the Bavarian government Bruno Lieschke and Arad prefect Avram Craciun. The memorial, which has five showrooms, was established in the town center in the post office.

Birthplace of the Swabian homeland poet Adam Müller- Guttenbrunn born on October 22, 1852 Dedicated: On the street facade of the birthplace of Adam Müller- Guttenbrunn a plaque was in 1921 on the initiative of the German Swabian Cultural Association, whose chairman Michael Kausch was mounted with the following text of the community Guttenbrunn at the suggestion of the local chapter of the Association of Culture 1921.

In the 1990s, was placed next to this memorial plaque and a second in the Romanian language.
