Zach Bogosian

Zachary Bogosian ( born July 15, 1990 in Massena, New York ) is an American professional ice hockey defender of Armenian descent who plays since July 2011, when the Winnipeg Jets of the National Hockey League.

Career

Zach Bogosian began his career in 2005 with his high school team, the Cushing Academy Penguins, where he could draw attention to himself by his style of play and was selected in the first round of the OHL Priority Selection by the Peterborough Petes. In the Petes he immediately began with a good season and was with seven goals and 26 assists to Kyle Raftis the top scoring defender of the team, but missed the playoffs.

In fall 2007, before his second season Bogosian was named one of Alternative captains of Pete's and he was this leadership role. He led his teammates as the best scorer of the team with 61 points in 60 games and was second best assist provider among the defenders in the league. The team was able to move well in the playoffs, but she was disqualified in the first round.

Due to its good performance Zach Bogosian was counted among the most promising talents of his year and was finally selected in the first round at the third position of the NHL Entry Draft in 2008 by the Atlanta Thrashers. Even little months later in the training camp of the Thrashers, he was awarded a place in the NHL squad.
