Zadelsdorf was a municipality in the district Greiz in Thuringia. On 1 December 2011 it was incorporated into Zeulenroda.

Geography

Zadelsdorf is located on the Zeulenroda in the Thuringian Slate Mountains. The village borders the city Auma Weidatal.

History

Zadelsdorf was first mentioned in 1324 as Zcedelanstorf. The name probably derives from the Slavic personal name Sedlan. Between 1813 and 1816 the present church was built. On August 18, 1988 triggered by arson large fire destroyed several historic homesteads in the center.

Until January 3, 1996 Zadelsdorf was a member of the administrative community Auma, the community then belonged to the administrative community Auma Weidatal. On 1 December 2011 Zadelsdorf was incorporated into Zeulenroda.
