Zahar Efimenko

Sachar Jefymenko ( notation at the World Chess Federation FIDE Zahar Efimenko; Ukrainian Захар Олександрович Єфименко; born July 3, 1985 in Makijiwka ) is a Ukrainian chess player. When he was four years old, his family after Kramatorsk.

Individual successes

In 1999, he won the Spanish Oropesa del Mar, the U14 World Cup, 1998, he had become even third in this category at the same place. In 2001 he won the Stork Young Masters in Hengelo, the group 2 of the Governor's Cup in Kramatorsk and the individual championship of the Donets Basin in Donetsk. Chess team

With the Ukrainian U16 national team, he won the Under-16 Chess Olympiad in Artek in 1999. In the Under-16 Chess Olympiad in 2000, also in Artek, he finished with the Ukrainian national team to second place. In the same year he won the Ukrainian U18 national team in the European Championship Balatonlelle, where he received an individual gold medal for his score of 4.5 out of 6 on the third board. In 2001 he was again in Balatonlelle U18 - team European champion, this time also with a gold medal for his score of 6.5 out of 7 on the second board considered ( Elo performance 2755 ). 2002 in Balatonlelle occupied the Ukrainian U18 with him the second place, where he still received an individual silver medal for his score of 5 out of 7 on top board. For the national adult he played at the 2003 European Championships in Plovdiv, the Chess Olympiads in Turin in 2006 and 2008 in Dresden and the European Team Championships 2009 in Novi Sad, in the Ukraine took third place. He became an International Master in 2001, since 2002 he is the Grand Master. With his Elo rating, he was on the fourth place in the Ukrainian Elo ranking (as of March 2011). His previous best ranking in the FIDE world ranking list was the 34th place in January 2006.
