Zaheerul Islam

Zaheerul Islam ( b. 1956 in Rawalpindi ) is a Pakistani lieutenant general and acting director of Pakistan's Inter -Services Intelligence (ISI).

Military career

Zaheerul Islam belongs to the Punjab Regiment and was posted on April 16, 1977 officer. He served as Commanding General of V. Corps in Karachi before his appointment as Director of the ISI. He also served as Chief of Staff in the Army Strategic Force Command for the years 2004 to 2006. He took over the post of ISI Director on 9 March 2012 by his predecessor Ahmed Shuja Pasha.
