Zakaria Bakkali (born 26 January 1996 Liège ) is a Belgian footballer of Moroccan roots, which is currently in the Dutch first division club PSV Eindhoven under contract.

Life

The son of Moroccan parents, was born in Liege, a Belgian citizenship.

Career

Clubs

Bakkali played during his youth in his native town for RFC Liège. In 2005 he moved to the great Belgian first division club Standard Liege. There he was active until 2008, when he finally moved to the Netherlands to play in the youth of the top club PSV Eindhoven.

During the season 2012/13 he was allowed to train with the pros for the first time and was the first time in the squad. On 2 May 2012, he signed his first contract, valid until the summer of 2015, professional contract with PSV, although by this time several clubs from abroad showed interest in the then 16 -year-olds. At the beginning of the 2013/14 season he gained great notoriety. Four days after his league debut on August 3, 2013 against ADO Den Haag, he scored in the third qualifying round of the Champions League against Belgian club SV Zulte Waregem his first Profitor. A few days later he met on August 10 for the first time in the Eredivisie. He became the youngest player in the league history, who scored three goals in a game by a hat-trick in the 5-0 win against NEC Nijmegen.

National

In the National Team, he represented Belgium in various youth teams. Already at U- 15 level, he was a successful scorer. Most recently he was a member of the U-21 squad in Belgium. Immediately after his first goal in the Champions League he was appointed by Marc Wilmot, coach of the senior national team for a friendly match against France in August 2013, in which he, however, was not used. On October 15, 2013 Bakkali finally debuted in a World Cup qualifier against Wales.

Play

Bakkali deemed to be fast, secure and robust ball, even though he has grown very small. Offensively, he can occupy various positions, preferably however, it is used as a winger. His trainer Philip Cocu praised him with the words: "He has great individual skills and is still a team player who does not neglect his defensive duties. "
