Zambian general election, 2011

The parliamentary elections in Zambia in 2011 were held on September 20, 2011 at the same time in the South African country of Zambia with the presidential elections. The Patriotic Front for the first time since its founding in 2001, won it the most votes of all parties, a few percentage points ahead of the party, the Movement for Multi- Party Democracy ( MMD ), which had always provided the strongest force in parliament and the president since the democratization of Zambia in 1991. Democratic standards

The EU observers from the European Union Election Observation Mission ( EU EOM) described the election as " generally conducted in a transparent and credible manner ", but lamented the unequal access to various resources of the individual candidates, which is an advantage for the governing party and its candidates was meant by the partial possibility of using state resources.
