Zanie, Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship

Zanie ( German Sanien, 1938-1945 Bernd yards ) is a scoring for community Kalinowo village in the northeastern Mazury in Polish Warmia and Mazury, powiat Ełcki.

The village is located seven kilometers north-east of the village Kalinowo ( German calligrapher Owen ) on the highway leading from Kalinowo after Wierzbowo 651

History

The village was established in the late 15th century. The place name is probably prußischer origin.

1656 were allied with Poland Tatars in Sanien and provided strong destruction and the loss of a large part of the village population.

May 27, 1874 District Wiersbowen in the district of Olsztyn was formed in the wake of a Prussian government reform new, which included the communities of Great Czymochen, Kiehlen, Millewen, Sanien, Soczien, Thurowen, Wiersbowen and Gutsbezirk Czymochen.

On December 1, 1910 295 inhabitants were recorded in Sanien.

1933 were recorded in Sanien 254 inhabitants.

Sanien was renamed on June 3, 1938 in the wake of the massive Eindeutschung Masurian place names Baltic or Slavic origin in Bernd courtyards.

1939 Bernd yards ( Sanien ) 251 inhabitants.

After the end of World War II in 1945 to the German Empire ( East Prussia ) belonging Bernd farms fell to Poland. The resident population was German, if they had not fled, largely expelled after 1945 and replaced in addition to the traditional Masurian minority by new residents from other parts of Poland, especially from the podlachischen Raczki. The town was renamed in Zanie.

From 1975 to 1998 belonged to Zanie former Suwałki Voivodeship, then came 1999 on the newly formed Warmia and Mazury.
