Zanjan Province

Zanjan (Persian استان زنجان, Azerbaijani Zəncan ) is one of the 31 provinces of Iran. Capital is the city of Zanjan.

Geography

Zanjan is located between Tehran in the East, the Caspian region to the north and the two Azerbaijani provinces of Iran to the west. Major cities are Zanjan, Alvand and Chorramdarreh. The majority of the population are Azerbaijanis.

The province is one of the most important industrial areas of Iran. In addition to the craft of Zanjan is known.
