Zaparoan languages
The zaparo languages (. Named after the single language zaparo; engl Zaparoan ) are a nearly extinct indigenous South American language family, which consists of seven individual languages ( in square brackets, the ISO 639-3 code is specified):
- Andoa [ anb ] ( extinct)
- Arabela [ arl ] (50 speakers)
- Aushiri [ avs ] ( extinct)
- Cahuarano [ cah ] (about 5 Speaker)
- Iquito [ IQU ] ( 35 speakers)
- Omurano [ omu ] ( extinct)
- Zaparo [ zro ] (practically extinct)
With the exception of zaparo that was spoken in Ecuador, all these languages are native to Peru.
